Mindful Self-Compassion can be done by anyone! Meditation experience is not necessary to practice Mindful Self-Compassion. Our programmes are based on equality, diversity and inclusiveness. Mindful Self-Compassion can have a therapeutic effect, but it’s not therapy. The emphasis is on building the resources and the practice of mindfulness and self-compassion.

With a diverse career spanning the corporate world in the banking sector, Law and later into Psychology, Executive and Organisational Coaching, Mindfulness, and Compassion, Michael brings a wealth of professional and personal experience to the realm of mindful self-compassion. As a manager for over two decades, he has navigated the complexities of the corporate landscape, gaining profound insights into the challenges of leadership and managing your own emotions in a highly performance driven environment.

Amidst the shifting tides of life, Michael found solace and strength through the practice of mindfulness, which he has cultivated for more than 30 years. Guided by inspiring teachers and finding a sense of belonging in the community fostered by the Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh, he discovered the transformative potential of mindfulness and self-compassion.

Relocating from Denmark to the enchanting town of Glaslough, Ireland, amidst the global pandemic, Michael faced the upheavals and changes that come with major life transitions. These experiences deepened his understanding further of the profound impact Mindful Self-Compassion can have in navigating life’s challenges and embracing personal growth.

Drawing from his own journey, Michael has undertaken training under the esteemed guidance of Kristin Neff, PhD, and Christopher Germer, PhD, pioneers in the field of self-compassion, through the renowned organisation, The Center for Mindful Self-Compassion (www.centerformsc.org). He is authorised to facilitate and teach the transformative MSC 8/10-week mindfulness self-compassion course, enriching the lives of individuals seeking to cultivate resilience, well-being, and self-compassion.

With a relatable and empathetic approach, Michael connects with participants, sharing not only his professional expertise in Mindful Self-Compassion but also his personal insights gained through life-altering decisions and transitions. His unique blend of practical experience and deep mindfulness practice creates a safe and nurturing space for individual to embark on their own journey of self-discovery, healing, and transformation.
